We collected this mountain tea by hand in the mountains of the Aegean island of Ikaria. Ikaria belongs to the Blue Zones, the five places in the world where people live longer and healthier than average. According to various research findings by Dan Buettner, the island's herbs and teas are also responsible for this.
The Icarians have always enjoyed the Cistus herb as a tea with its pleasant, tart, aromatic taste and due to its high polyhpenol (antioxidant) content. The cistus herb (plant of the year 1999) is said to have many health-promoting properties.
According to the Novel Food Regulation, this herb is unfortunately not approved as a food in the EU, which is why we expressly offer it as a vegetable raw material and as a bath additive and not as a food.
